  • Don’t try to do impossible. There are in built safety devices in human nervous system to relax you .Keep them intact and let them do their job.If,for example you are a senior citizen, don’t try to artificially rejuvenate you, rather reschedule your routine. Avoid or sleep less in daytime to treat insomnia. 
  • Quite useful information and guidelines about treatment of insomnia are available easily. Try to get yourself well informed of your symptoms and their appropriate treatment. 
  • Meditation is an effective treatment of insomnia. 
  • Overeating, irregular meals, the in between snacks like brunch cause sleeping disorders. Try to be regular but don’t be too formal a martinet. Just enjoy your meals. There is nothing more relaxing than having a nice company. 
  • The intrinsic problem with insomnia is that it needs ‘nerves’ to relax nerves and this is why that at times self devised methods don’t work. It is advisable in this to seek assistance from an expert, a swimming coach, a message expert, a nutritionist, a physiotherapist or in the worst case scenario just visit your doctor.  

In addition to medication, meditation, taking regular meals and doing learnt relaxing, consumption of seafood particularly mussels and prawns is recommended to treat insomnia.
